PROJECT: WATER IS  LIFE

MOBILITY: SECOND MOBILITY.

HOST PARTNER: HSF, CHAMBÉRY,FRANCE

INVITED PARTNERS: FRANCE, TURKEY AND SPAIN(IES SANTO DOMINGO)

CHAMBÉRY, FRANCE FROM 30TH SEPTEMBER TO 4TH OCTOBER

SPANISH TEAM: MARÍA DOCAVO, NACHO OLAVARRIETA, MERITXELL MARTÍNEZ AND NOELIA VIÑOLO

PROGRAMME SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK:

DAY 1: GLOBAL WARMING , GREEN HOUSES GAS AND  IMPACT PLUS GUIDED TOUR.

We worked on the HSF premises for that day, from 9 to 12.30 and then again in the afternoon after lunch, and before going on a guided tour around Chambéry. The topic we dealt with was climate and water, and of course, ways to work on the topics with our students from a hopeful perspective. We played some games which involved becoming aware of how global warming affects societies, economy  and ecosystems.

The work done, both, in the morning and in the afternoon, was the result of the topic being split  up into three different activities.

DAY 2: WATER PROTECTION, LOCAL SUPPLY, SCHOOL PROJECTS

On our second day we worked from 9 until 5 with lunch break in between. The themes we discussed on that day were water protection, how positive it is to know about your local community supplies and we did a presentation of our final  product to the rest of the teams. María did the presentation on our future project, which has to do with hydroponic farming.

DAY 3: STRATEGIES FOR PROTECTING WATER AND SUSTAINABLE TECHNIQUES

On this day we watched some videos on the topic, we discussed some images and read and listened to some information about different ways to save water from a daily home basis to a big scale (industry wise).

Later in the afternoon we visited a water plant where we received very interesting information on how water is supplied to the citizens off the natural resources around the city of Chambéry, specially their big lake and how the water amount is becoming more and more scarce with the passing of time being directly affected by climate change.

AND….Then, free time for LEFFE,LEFFE,TAC,TAC, CHIN,CHIN. Such a nice quartet!!!!

DAY 4: VISIT TO CHAMONIX AND THE LAKE; MER DE GLACE AND LAKE BOURGET

Through this visit we learned about water natural resources and how climate change is affecting these natural resources. It was too foggy  to be able to really  appreciate such a natural wonder in front of our eyes but still, we managed to make our minds up. Let’s take care of the environment!!! It is worthy!!!

DAY 5: COMMUNITY WORK TO TAKE ACTION ON GLOBAL WARMING AND CLIMATE CHANGE

On our last day we talked about inspiring changes in our communities, we discussed what we want to achieve with our students and we finished working on the tasks that would later be presented to our students and which will represent a  step on the work done before heading to our final product.

We were pleased to contribute to the aim of this mobility while representing

 IES SANTO DOMINGO
